Is Silent VPN free?
A free tier is available with no account required. Paid plans add extra capacity/features — buy them as an in-app subscription (billed through Google Play on Android) or through @remsysvpn_bot on Telegram.
What's the difference between the app and the Telegram bot?
Same underlying VPN service. The app gives you a native client with a kill switch, split tunneling and automatic DNS leak protection built in. The bot gets you a connection link fast, from any device, without installing anything, and includes a personal account with a balance for renewals.
Can I pay with crypto?
Yes — @remsysvpn_bot accepts Visa/Mastercard or crypto, whichever you prefer. In-app subscriptions on Android go through Google Play Billing, which doesn't support crypto.
What is the personal account / balance in the bot?
@remsysvpn_bot gives you a balance you can top up once (by card or crypto) and let subscriptions renew from automatically, instead of paying separately every cycle. Longer plans (3/6/12 months) cost less per month than paying monthly.
Do I need to create an account?
No. The app generates an anonymous subscriber ID on first launch — no name, email, or phone number required. If you buy through Telegram, your account is simply tied to your Telegram ID, the same way any Telegram bot works.
Can you see what websites I visit?
No. Your traffic is end-to-end encrypted between your device and the exit server using the Xray protocol (VLESS/REALITY). We don't log destination URLs, DNS queries, or traffic content. See Security & Encryption for details.
Which platforms are supported?
Android, Linux and Windows desktop are available today. macOS is in active development, and iOS is planned. See the Download page for current status per platform — or skip the app entirely and get a connection link through the Telegram bot, which works with any VLESS-compatible client.
Why does the Linux version install a background service?
Creating a VPN tunnel on Linux requires elevated (root) privileges to set up network routing — the same reason OpenVPN, WireGuard, and other Linux VPN clients run a privileged background service. It's installed once and doesn't require re-entering a password on every connection.
Why does installing the Android APK show a warning?
Android shows this for any app installed outside Google Play — it's a standard OS-level warning, not specific to Silent VPN. Once the app is published on Google Play, that download option will use the normal Play Store install flow.
How do I cancel my subscription?
In-app subscription: Play Store app → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Silent VPN → Cancel. Telegram bot: message @remsysvpn_bot and stop topping up your balance, or ask it to cancel auto-renewal. See the Refund Policy for full details.
What VPN protocol does Silent VPN use?
Xray's VLESS protocol over REALITY or TLS, via the open-source XTLS/libXray engine — not a proprietary or closed-source VPN core.
Is using a VPN legal?
VPNs are legal in most countries, but laws vary — it's your responsibility to know the rules where you are. Silent VPN is a general-purpose privacy/networking tool, and use must comply with our Terms of Service and applicable law.
I reinstalled the app — can I restore my subscription?
Yes. On Android, use the "Restore purchases" option — it looks up your active subscription through your Google Play account and reprovisions the same VPN credentials, no new purchase needed. On Linux/Windows, use your restore code (shown once after purchase) in the app's Subscription tab to recover an Android-purchased subscription with no account at all.
